How many miles can you deduct for DoorDash?
There is no single mileage allowance that fits every DoorDash driver. Your deduction depends on documented eligible business driving and the vehicle expense method you can use.
Record the trip, then review its purpose
Keep a log of delivery driving with dates, distance and business purpose. Separate personal trips. Travel from home to a work location can be subject to commuting rules, so avoid assuming every mile with the app enabled qualifies.
How the mileage estimate works
Under the standard mileage method, an estimate starts with eligible business miles multiplied by the applicable IRS rate. Use the rate for the tax year and driving period; check official guidance before filing.
For a simple arithmetic example, 100 eligible miles at a hypothetical $0.70 rate would equal a $70 deduction. This is an illustration, not the current rate or a $70 refund.
