Is driving Uber worth it? Try the earnings calculator
Use your own shift numbers to see what you keep after driving expenses. Count all time spent working, including waiting, and all miles used for the shift—not just miles with a passenger.
Before-tax estimate based only on entered costs. Include your allocated maintenance, insurance and depreciation costs in expenses for a fuller estimate. A tax mileage deduction is not cash profit.
Use a full shift, not your best ride
Include earnings and tips once, without double-counting platform totals. Add fuel or charging, parking, tolls and other costs attributable to the shift. For a fuller estimate, include reasonable allocations for maintenance, insurance and depreciation.
What the results mean
- After expenses: earnings minus the costs you entered.
- Per hour: that amount divided by your total work hours.
- Per mile: that amount divided by your shift mileage.
The calculator does not estimate taxes or decide which expenses are deductible. It cannot predict demand, tips or future payouts. Compare several shifts and times of day to understand your own results.
